Cold front brings snow, fog and rain

A cold front sweeping across northern China will also seep into central and eastern China Monday while continuing to bring more snowfall to northeastern regions, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Sunday.

The central Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, eastern of northwestern China and most parts of northern China saw a temperature fall by 6 to 10 degrees Sunday, along with precipitation.

Parts of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia, Gansu and Hebei provinces, where there was snow and sleet Sunday, will see sunshine Monday.

Strong winds and temperature drops of 6 to 8 degrees will be seen in regions along the Yellow, Huai and Yangtze rivers until Monday, some parts in those regions will see a temperature drop of up to 10 degrees, said the NMC on its website.

Meanwhile, provinces including Jilin and Heilongjiang will witness more snowfall Monday, with snowstorms in some areas, it said.

It also warned of foggy weather in some regions along the Yellow, Huai, Yangtze and Han rivers, as well as parts of southwestern and southern China Monday morning. Some parts in Jiangsu and Hunan provinces will be shrouded in thick fog with a visibility of less than one kilometer.

The NMC Sunday also warned drivers in these places will also be much reduced.
